HUMAN AND DOG....

The relationship between man and dogs has been called the oldest friendship in the world. Many stories abound the close between master and dog, with some even claiming that a dog will die of grief not long after its owner's demise. Some dogs suffer from separation anXiety when their owners are away for long periods of time. Research has shown that dogs are able to show a range of emotions not seen in other animals, and this is often associated with their close development with modern man.

Dogs have been domesticated for 12,000 years or even longer. Man had then, begun to use dogs as hunting companions. Some 7,000 to 9,000 years ago, they were used as guard dogs to protect against predators.

In 2002, two genetic studies found that the origin of the domestic dogs lies in East Asia rather than the Middle East as held by earlier theories. Domesticated dogs first appeared in East Asia before they followed their human companions as they immigrated into the New World some 12,000 to 14,000 years ago and spread across Asia and Europe.
